Jack Hendry, born on 7th May 1995 in Scotland, resides in the realm of football as a robust defender who primarily plies his trade as a central defender for Al-Ettifaq. Towering at 1.94m (6ft 4in) and weighing in at 88kg (13st 12lb), Hendry has also carried the mantle for the Scotland national team.
Introduced to Partick Thistle's Championship-tiered Scottish football in July 2014, Hendry saw limited field action, featuring in only one league match during his debut 2014 - 2015 season, and another three league matches in the subsequent 2015 - 2016 season.
In September 2015, Hendry exchanged the burgundy of Partick Thistle for the blue and white of Wigan Athletic, situated down in England's League One, a venture that cost in the region of £250,000. The following March saw Hendry head out on loan to Shrewsbury Town, making six appearances in England's League Two. In the August of 2016, a similar pattern played out, with Hendry transferring on loan to MK Dons, where he made seven first team appearances.
July 2017 marked a return to Scotland for Hendry, transferring to Dundee in the Premiership, where he managed 24 first team appearances and found the back of the net once.
January 2018 would see Hendry transferring from Dundee to Celtic for approximately £1.5m. In the green and white hoops Hendry made 11 first team appearances in the 2017 - 2018 season and a further four in the 2018 - 2019 season.
Following a two-year spell with Celtic, he was loaned out to Melbourne City in Australia's A-League in January 2020, then to Belgian third-tier club Oostende in July 2020, before Oostende solidified their relationship with Hendry with a £1.5m outright purchase in July 2021. During his time with Oostende, Hendry made 33 first team appearances over two seasons and scored two goals.
August 2021 marked another move for Hendry, this time to Club Brugge in Belgium's top-tier Pro League, for a reported transfer fee of around £6m. Hendry has worn the blue and black stripes 24 times over two seasons.
A brief sojourn to Italy saw Hendry join Serie A side Cremonese on loan in September 2022, where he made four first team appearances before returning to Club Brugge in January 2023.
Ultimately, Hendry found himself in Saudi Arabia, joining Al-Ettifaq in the Pro League in July 2023 for just shy of £6m. In the current 2025 - 2026 season, Hendry has represented Al-Ettifaq 22 times in first team league matches.
