Born on 7 March 1993 in Australia, Jackson Irvine, who wears the number 7 jersey, is a midfield force to be reckoned with. In the football universe, he's primarily known for his central midfield proficiency whilst playing for St. Pauli. Well-built, he stands at 6ft 2in (1.89m) and tips the scales at 12st 1lb (77kg). Besides his club career, Irvine has also donned the green and gold, contributing to the Australian national squad.
Irvine cut his football teeth in December 2010 as a trainee with Celtic. He truly kicked off his Celtic journey in the 2012 - 2013 season and made his first team appearance in one league match. The following season saw a change of scenery for Irvine when he was loaned to Kilmarnock. Despite the move, he adapted well, making 27 first team appearances and even notching a goal to his name. Yet, his Celtic ties hadn't been fully severed.
In 2014, Irvine found himself once again being transferred from Celtic, this time to Ross County, albeit on loan. This proved a successful period for him, making 28 first team appearances and dispatching the football into the net twice during the 2014 - 2015 season. This productive run continued into his 2015 - 2016 season with 36 appearances and two goals.
Whatever was left of his ties to Celtic were severed in July 2015 when he was permanently shipped off to Ross County, this time for an undisclosed fee, allowing him to rack up the same impressive stats as he did during his loan spell. His journey then took him to England with a move to Burton Albion in July 2016 for a reported fee of around £250k. He made an immediate impact with 42 first team appearances and ten goals in league matches during his debut season. The following season, however, he only made three appearances and scored once before he was transferred again.
August 2017 saw Irvine join Hull City for a hefty fee of around £2m. His run with Hull City was fruitful, netting a total of ten goals across three seasons and making over 100 appearances. But, come June 2020, Irvine was on the move again. His next destination, however, remained undisclosed at the time.
Fast forward to January 2021, Irvine found himself back in Scotland with Hibernian. During the 2020 - 2021 season, he made 15 first team appearances in league matches. Just six months on, in July 2021, he transferred again, this time to St. Pauli in the Bundesliga in Germany.
His time at St. Pauli has proved successful. Over the course of four seasons, from 2021 to 2025, he made over 100 appearances and contributed a total of 15 goals. As of the current 2025 - 2026 season, Irvine has already notched up 12 appearances in league matches.
