Jahmai Simpson-Pusey is an English central defender, born on 11 April 2005 (age 21), who came through at Manchester City before his senior career began to take shape elsewhere. His first league involvement at City came in 2024-25, when he made two appearances without scoring.
He was linked with Celtic in July 2025 while still at Manchester City, and joined Celtic from City in August 2025. It was an early Scottish turn in a career that was still short on senior football, rather than the spell that has so far defined him.
That distinction belongs to Cologne, where he made 11 league appearances across one season. For a player with a compact senior record, that has been the main body of his first-team football. His market value is around £5m, according to Transfermarkt.
So far, Simpson-Pusey’s career has been a brief Manchester City breakthrough, a move to Celtic, and a Cologne spell that has carried most of his league experience.
