Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, born on 11 April 2005 (age 21), is an English central defender whose senior career began at Manchester City. His busiest league season before leaving England was 2024-2025, though even then it amounted to two league appearances and no goals.
Celtic came into his story in August 2025, when he joined from Manchester City. He had been linked with Celtic the previous month while at Cologne, and the move gave him a brief first-team foothold in Glasgow. In 2025-2026, he made one league appearance for Celtic before spending time on loan at Cologne.
Cologne has done most to shape his senior career so far. Across two seasons there, he has made 11 league appearances without scoring, all of them coming during that 2025-2026 loan spell. For a young centre-half, that is still a modest body of work, but it is where his professional profile has had most substance.
His market value is around £5m, according to Transfermarkt. Simpson-Pusey’s career to date is a short one: developed at Manchester City, briefly seen at Celtic, and most clearly defined so far by his football at Cologne.
