Jamie Smith, born 20 of November 1980, is celebrated as a skilful midfielder predominantly securing the role of Att Right Midfield. Standing tall at 5ft 8in (1.73m), and weighing 11st 13lb (76kg), this Scotsman carved a significant career path through multiple seasons on the football field.
Smith's professional journey started in the Premiership with Celtic as a trainee in the chilly December of 1996. His career evolved considerably during his times with Celtic, marking notable accomplishments each season. The initial taste of the first team came in the season of 2000-2001 where Smith sprang into action making seven appearances and managed to score his debut league goal. The subsequent 2001-2002 season saw him further enhance his presence with 11 first team appearances and repeated his goal-scoring feat. The following two seasons of 2002-2003 and 2003-2004, Smith proved his worth with 13 and 11 first team appearances respectively.
Moreover, Smithโs Celtic career experienced a temporary diversion, when in March 2000, he was loaned to Livingston in the Championship. During the debut 1999-2000 season at Livingston, he made a commendable six first team appearances and scored a goal.
Smith bid farewell to Celtic in July of 2004 when he transferred to ADO Den Haag, based in the Eerste Divisie in the Netherlands. During the 2004-2005 season, Smith showcased his talent in 30 appearances and solidified his contribution with a goal.
While these changes were challenging, Smith proved his mettle when he transferred to Aberdeen in the Premiership in June of 2005. His commitment was apparent as he played in over 85 matches during four seasons with Aberdeen, exhibiting his scoring prowess with 13 goals.
Swept by the winds of change, Smith transferred from Aberdeen to Colorado Rapids in the MLS in the USA in July 2009. While at Colorado Rapids, Smith displayed his versatility and talent consistently over several seasons making over 70 appearances and netting a respectable eight goals in his tenure.
Then, in a move that was as unsubtle as a blaring vuvuzela, Smith once again transferred. This time, in December 2013, Smith left Colorado Rapids. However, the destination remains a mystery for the fans and the folklore continues.
