Joel Mvuka, hailing from the frosty climes of Norway, was born on the 12th of November, 2002, making him a sprightly 23-year-old. The young Norse is a forward, with a particularly strong right wing. We're fortunate enough to have him amongst our ranks here at Celtic, making strides in the Number 32 jersey. He's a compact unit, standing at a respectable 5 foot 8 inches (1.73m) and tipping the scales at 10 stone 3 pounds (65kg).
According to Transfermarkt, Mvuka's current market value approximately graces the £1.7m mark.
Tracing his career back to August 2021, our man Mvuka was first transferred from Asane to Bodo Glimt, both teams featuring in the Norwegian leagues. Precise fee details for this move remain under a veil. Official stats suggest he clocked a total of 46 first team appearances in league matches across 3 seasons, with five goals to his credit. Quite impressive numbers considering he was still cutting his teeth there.
By July 2023, Mvuka had piqued the interest of Lorient, a team from Ligue 1 in France, who snapped him up for a hefty sum of around £4.7m. His tenure there was quite successful, logging 52 first team appearances across three seasons, knocking in three goals along the way, as of current season 2025 - 2026.
At some point in January 2024, Mvuka found himself loaned out by Lorient to the Young Boys Bern playing in the Swiss Super League. A short but fruitful stint, he made an impact with 16 munch-needed first team appearances and managed to net 2 goals. He then returned to Lorient upon completion of his loan in June 2024.
In the summer of 2025, there was a bit of a shuffle once more and Mvuka secured a spot at Lorient. He has since made impressive strides, including an ongoing season record of 15 first team appearances.
Fast forward to February 2026, and fortune smiled upon us here at Celtic when Mvuka traded the sunlit fields of France for the tempestuous climate of the Scottish Premiership. Although he's yet to make his maiden Celtic appearance in the league, he did don the sacred green and white strip for the Scottish Cup 2025 - 2026, managing one start and making an appearance as a substitute. With patience, let's see what this young Norwegian talent brings to our beloved club.
