John Colquhoun, a lean, imposing forward talent, was born in Scotland on the 14th of July, 1963. Measuring up at 5ft 6in (1.7m) and a solid 11 stone (70kg), Colquhoun made his mark primarily as a Centre Forward. Although he now finds himself listed under 'Players with No Team', Colquhoun's career has been a tour de force through some of the most renowned teams in Britain.
His formative years were spent with Stirling Albion, where, during the 1980 - 1981 season, Colquhoun made 13 first-team appearances. The following season saw him make 37 appearances, netting a respectable 13 goals. His scoring form continued to elevate in the 1982 - 1983 season, where he made 39 appearances and scored a career-high, at that time, of 21 goals.
By the 1983 - 1984 season, Colquhoun found a new home at Celtic. In his first season with The Bhoys, he made 12 appearances, scoring twice in that span. His second season at Celtic, during the 1984 - 1985 term, resulted in 20 appearances and another pair of goals.
Transitioning from Celtic, Colquhoun went on to enjoy a lengthy and fruitful spell at Hearts spanning seven seasons from 1985 to 1992. Throughout his tenure with the Edinburgh-based club, Colquhoun made a combined 276 first-team appearances, scoring a total of 67 goals, firmly entrenching his status as a club legend.
Following his time at Hearts, Colquhoun ventured south to England, playing a season each at Millwall and Sunderland, making 27 and 20 first-team appearances respectively.
A return to Hearts transpired in the 1993 - 1994 season, seeing Colquhoun back in Scottish football for a four-season stint. Throughout this spell, he added another 114 first-team appearances to his name, along with 10 more goals. By the 1996 - 1997 season, Colquhoun found himself in St Johnstone, where he made a modest six appearances before retiring from football.
