Johnny Kenny, a young Ireland-born forward, was born on 6 June 2003 and is currently still rather fresh at 22 years old. The athletic lad stands at a respectable 1.77m (5ft 9in) tall and weighs a sturdy 71kg (11st 2lb). Kenny is currently with Bolton Wanderers, where he takes on the attacking role of a striker, donning the number 9 jersey with distinction. Additionally, Kenny has had the honour of representing the Republic of Ireland at the national level.
As of current, Transfermarkt approximates his market value to be around £512k. His journey in the dynamic world of football initiated at Sligo Rovers, Republic of Ireland's Premier Division team, in January 2020. In his debut season (2021), Kenny made a robust first impression, scoring 11 goals in 32 first team appearances.
In January 2022, Celtic, a team in the Scottish Premiership, recognised his talent and transferred him for a fee of around £140k. Kenny's time at Celtic was marked by sporadic appearances and modest goal counts, with only five goals across his 23 appearances during his stay from 2024 to 2026. During his stint with Celtic, he was also loaned out to Queen's Park in Scotland and Shamrock Rovers in Ireland, contributing robust performances to both, especially during his time at Shamrock Rovers where he netted 18 goals in two seasons.
Upon completing his loan term at Shamrock Rovers, Kenny returned to Celtic in January 2025. However, in February 2026, he took another leap in his career and moved to Bolton Wanderers on a loan spell. As of the ongoing season, Kenny has made two first team appearances for Bolton in England's League One.
Stepping into the international arena, Kenny represented the Republic of Ireland in the World Cup Qualifiers Europe 2024 - 2026, making one substitute appearance. Although he has a relatively small footprint in the international realm, there is no doubt that Johnny Kenny's future in the game is a promising one.
