Jordan Henderson, born on 17 June 1990 (age 36), is an English central midfielder now with Brentford, wearing the number 6 shirt. His current market value is around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
He came through at Sunderland, with an early loan at Coventry City giving him senior football before he became established in the north-east. That period mattered: Henderson was never a decorative midfielder, and the useful parts of his game were built early – running, discipline, reliability and enough quality on the ball to keep moving up.
Liverpool is where his career was made. Across 12 seasons he made 360 league appearances and scored 29 league goals, becoming a fixture in a side that asked plenty of its midfielders and usually got it from him. His most productive league campaign came in 2014-2015, when he scored six times in 37 appearances.
After Liverpool, his career moved through shorter spells abroad before he returned to the Premier League with Brentford. In 2025-2026 he has remained a regular first-team presence, making 32 league appearances and scoring once, with 34 appearances and one goal in all competitions for the club. He has also played six times for England in European World Cup qualifying this season.
Henderson’s career is still defined by Liverpool, but he has not drifted into the background. At Brentford, he remains active, experienced and involved at a level where reputation alone does not carry anyone for long.
