Josh Campbell, a Scottish national born on 6 May 2000 and now aged 24, operates primarily as a central midfielder for Hibernian, adorning the number 32 jersey. His physique, standing at 1.82m (5ft 11in) tall and tipping the scales at 74kg (11st 9lb), is well suited to the rigor and intensity of the midfield battle.
Campbell joined Hibernian's Premiership team as a trainee back in July 2016. His promising debut season for Hibernian was in 2021-2022, in which he made 26 first-team appearances and bagged a goal in the league. The following season, 2022-2023, saw further growth in Campbell's game with the midfielder participating in 36 games and netting an impressive eight goals. In the 2023-2024 season, Campbell, made a contribution in 19 matches and scored thrice. In the ongoing 2024-2025 season, Campbell has so far taken part in ten league fixtures and found the back of the net once.
During his tenure with Hibernian, Campbell has seen two loan spells outside of the club. The first was in January 2019, when he transferred to Airdrieonians in the Championship. However, his stint was short-lived, and in June 2019, Campbell was back in Hibernian upon completion of his loan agreement.
In a similar turn of events, Campbell, was loaned out again in August 2019, this time to Arbroath in League One. But just as his first loan term, he returned to Hibernian in January 2020, after serving out his loan tenure.
His third loan spell was with Edinburgh City in League Two, where he was transferred to in September 2020. After wrapping up his tenure with Edinburgh City, Campbell was welcomed back in Hibernian in June 2021.
In the 2024-2025 season, Campbell also had a spell in the League Cup with Hibernian, starting four games and making a substitute appearance once.
