Kalvin Phillips, born on 2 December 1995 (age 30), is an English defensive midfielder at Manchester City, where he wears squad number 44.
The bulk of his career was built at Leeds United. Across eight seasons he made 214 league appearances and scored 13 league goals, becoming a long-serving part of the side rather than a passing name on a teamsheet. His most productive league campaign came in 2017-18, when he scored seven goals in 41 appearances.
His early loan football helped with his development, but Leeds was where he became established. That spell gave his career its shape: regular matches, responsibility in midfield, and enough substance to earn the move on to Manchester City.
At City, the picture has been much thinner. In 2025-26 he has not made a league appearance, with his only outing coming in the League Cup. His Manchester City record stands at one appearance and no goals across all competitions.
Phillips’ senior career is still mainly the story of eight substantial seasons at Leeds United, followed by a far more limited role at Manchester City.
