Kjell Watjen

Kjell Watjen, born on 16 February 2006 (age 20), is a German centre midfielder now with FC Midtjylland. He is still in the early stages of his senior career, but he has already moved beyond the purely academy prospect stage.

His most productive league spell came with Borussia Dortmund II in 2024-25, when he scored five goals in 20 appearances. For a midfielder at that level, that is a useful return rather than a headline-grabber, which is probably the proper scale for it.

Watjen’s current market value is around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt. His career to this point is a straightforward development path: German youth football, senior minutes with Dortmund’s second side, and a move into first-team football at Midtjylland.
