English born Kyle Vassell, born on February 7, 1993, is currently a leading forward for Kilmarnock at the age of 31. Vassell's preferred position is as a striker; he is 6ft (1.83m) tall and weighs 12st 3lb (78kg). He is easily recognized on the field in his number 9 jersey.
His career trajectory has seen him transfer to multiple football clubs. In 2013, Vassell made a move from Bishop's Stortford in England's Lower Leagues to join Peterborough United in the League One. Here he made several notable appearances, including six in his 2013-2014 debut season. The following 2014-2015 season saw him make 17 first team appearances, during which he scored five goals.
In March 2015, he was loaned out to Oxford United in the Championship, completing six first-team appearances and scoring a single goal before returning to Peterborough at the season's end. Vassell's stint at Peterborough finally came to an end in November 2015, when he transferred to Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League on loan, marking eight first team league appearances.
His subsequent transition took him to Shrewsbury Town in January 2016, where he made 13 first team league appearances. Later in July of the same year, Vassell transferred to Blackpool, where he made a number of significant contributions such as scoring 11 goals in 34 first team appearances in the 2016-2017 season and eight goals in 18 appearances the following season.
July 2018 marked his transfer to Rotherham United, where he made 23 first team appearances in the 2018-2019 season, and 12 in the 2020-2021 season. Following a brief loan to Fleetwood Town in January 2021, he then transferred to Cheltenham Town in August of the same year. He would then make a transatlantic move to join San Diego Loyal in the USL in the USA in January 2022.
Finally in January 2023, Vassell found his way to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership. He has since recorded some impressive performances. In his debut season 2022-2023, he made 14 first team appearances and scored four goals. His 2023-2024 season saw him make 35 appearances and score nine goals. The current 2024-2025 season has thus far seen him make 11 first team appearances and score a single goal.
Off the league stage, Vassell has also contributed to Kilmarnock's Cup campaigns, with a single goal in two starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Cup 2023-2024, and a single goal scored in four starts during the Conference League Qualifiers 2024-2025.
