Born on the 20th of January in 1995 in Japan, Kyogo Furuhashi is a forward who prominently features as a striker for Birmingham City. Currently aged 31, he stands at 5ft 6in (1.7m) and weighs a tidy 9st 12lb (63kgs). Sporting the number 9 on his jersey, he has also represented his home nation, Japan, in international competition.

In January 2017, Furuhashi began his professional journey with FC Gifu in the Japan Lower Leagues. His debut season saw him make 24 first-team appearances scoring five goals.
The following season, in July 2018, he moved upwards to Vissel Kobe in the J1 League at an approximate fee of £140,000. A year later, he managed 31 appearances, finding the net ten times. He continued to improve his scoring record, striking 12 and 15 times in the subsequent seasons, all the while consistently featuring in the team selection.
Furuhashi's career took a turn towards the Scottish Premiership in July 2021, when he transferred to Celtic for an estimated £4.6m. His time at Celtic was fruitful, if not spectacular. In his debut season, he made 20 first-team appearances and scored a commendable 12 goals. The following season he was a notable presence on the pitch, making 36 appearances and scoring 27 times. He continued to perform consistently in the following seasons with 14 and ten goals respectively.
After four remarkable seasons at Celtic, Furuhashi transferred to Rennes in Ligue 1 in France for a substantial fee of around £10m in January 2025. His time at Rennes was brief, making only six appearances.
In July 2025, Furuhashi moved to Birmingham City in the English Championship for an undisclosed fee. In the current season, he has made a total of 28 appearances, scoring only once.
Beyond the league games, Furuhashi's performances in other tournaments have been noteworthy. He participated in the 2025-2026 FA and League Cup for Birmingham City, scoring once in both the competitions. He also had the honour of representing Japan in the 2024 - 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, adding two substitute appearances to his name.
