Lewis Neilson, a defender originally from Scotland, was born on the 15th of May, 2003, which makes him 22 years old at present. Standing at a rather imposing height of 6ft 3in (1.91m) and weighing in at an athletic 13st (83kg), Neilson primarily operates as a central defender for Falkirk. At his current club, he dons the number 15 jersey.
Neilson began his career as a trainee at Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership, joining the club in July 2018. Throughout his debut season in 2020-2021, he made nine league appearances for the first team. He followed this up with six appearances in the subsequent 2021-2022 season.
In March 2021, Neilson was loaned out to Falkirk FC, also of the Scottish Premiership. Despite this being a temporary move, the central defender managed to impress, with seven first-team appearances in the current 2025-2026 season. Once his loan spell at Falkirk concluded in June 2021, Neilson returned to Dundee United, where he continued to gain valuable playing time.
It was not long before another move was on the cards for Neilson- he transferred to Heart of Midlothian, a fellow Scottish Premiership club, in July 2022. Over the course of the 2022-2023 and 2024-2025 seasons, Neilson appeared a total of fifteen times in league matches for the Edinburgh-based club.
Another loan spell opened up for Neilson in August 2023, this time to the Championship side Partick Thistle. His stint at Thistle proved to be Neilson’s most fruitful in terms of playing time- he made 36 appearances and even bagged a single goal. Once his loan was up in June 2024, the defender returned to Hearts, making only five first-team appearances in the 2024-2025 season.
A succession of loan spells to Championship sides followed next for Neilson - St Johnstone in July 2024 and subsequently a return to Falkirk in July 2025. During these loan spells, Neilson made 17 first team appearances for St Johnstone during the 2024-2025 season, and currently, he has made seven first team appearances in the 2025-2026 season for Falkirk. Noteworthy, too, is Neilson's participation in the League Cup 2025-2026 for Falkirk, during which he started five times.
Given his relative youth and experience across various clubs in the Scottish football leagues, Lewis Neilson possesses much promise and still has plenty of time to write the future chapters of his career.
