Lewis Neilson, born on the 15th of May in 2003, is a sturdy Scottish lad, adorned in the number 15 jersey of Falkirk, where he commands the pitch from his chosen position as a central defender. With a height of 6ft 3in (1.91m) and weight of 13 stone (83kg), he offers an imposing deterrent to would-be attackers.
Neilson's footballing journey kicked off at Dundee United as a trainee back in July 2018. He debuted in the 2020-2021 season, where he made nine first team appearances in league matches, followed by another six appearances in the succeeding 2021-2022 season.
The March of 2021 showcased a fresh chapter in Neilson's career as he was loaned to Falkirk, making seven appearances in the ongoing 2025-2026 season. However, his stint with this squad was temporary, and by June he returned to Dundee United, again featuring in nine and six first-team appearances in two subsequent seasons, certainly keeping the statisticians busy.
Neilson's next career leap took place in July 2022 when he transferred to Hearts, another Premiership side in Scotland. In his time at Hearts, the versatile defender racked up ten first-team appearances in the 2022-2023 season and five appearances in the 2024-2025 season.
Not one to shy away from new experiences, Neilson found himself with Partick Thistle on loan in August 2023, thoroughly immersing himself in their Championship campaign that season with no less than 36 first-team appearances and even managing to net a goal. His return to Hearts in June 2024 but his next adventure awaited at St Johnstone, another Championship side, via another loan spell in July 2024. He added 17 first team appearances to his growing resume during the 2024-2025 season at St Johnstone.
After returning to Hearts in January 2025, Neilson didn't have to wait long for his following chapter - he once again found himself on the move in July 2025, returning to Falkirk on loan. Currently, in the 2025-2026 season at Falkirk, he has made seven further appearances. He also has made a marked contribution to Falkirk's League Cup 2025-2026 campaign with five starts.
Despite the numerous moves and changes of scenery, one thing remains constant; Lewis Neilson, with grit and determination, continues to strive toward becoming a titan of Scottish football.
