Born on 17 June 1987 in Slovakia, Ľuboš Kamenár, now 37, is a goalkeeper, donning the number 1 jersey, for Spartak Trnava. Kamenár stands tall at six feet three inches (1.93m) and weighs in at 12 stone and 3 pounds (78kg).
Beginning his career in July 2005, Kamenár joined FC Petržalka 1898, a local team competing in the third division of Slovakian football. Four years later, in July 2009, he was transferred to Nantes in the French top-flight, Ligue 1. In his debut season for Nantes, Kamenár made 35 first team appearances in league matches. However, the subsequent 2010 - 2011 season saw him make just one first team appearance before he was shipped out on loan to Sivasspor in Turkey's Süper Lig in January 2011. Sadly, his time there was equally uneventful, contributing only one appearance to the Turkish outfit.
In July of the same year, the Slovakian stopper was again sent out on loan, this time to Sparta Prague in the Czech First League. After a half a season term in the Czech Republic, Kamenár's loan experience continued as he moved back to his homeland in January 2012, this time to Spartak Trnava. In the current 2024 - 2025 season however, he has yet to add to his appearance tally.
August 2012 marked a notable turn in Kamenár's career, as he was loaned out to the Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. Though his stint lasted less than a year, his short spell was significant as he joined one of Scotland's top clubs, allowing for increased visibility and experience against tough competition. His stay in Scotland did not last long. In February 2013, he was transferred from Nantes to ETO Gyori in Hungary's Nemzeti Bajnokság I.
During his tenure with ETO Gyori, Kamenár chalked up a more robust appearance record, featuring in three league games in his first season, 27 in the next, and seven in his final 2014 - 2015 season before moving once again, this time returning to Spartak Trnava in July 2015. However, in the ongoing 2024 - 2025 season, Kamenár has yet to make a single first team appearance.
In July 2016, Kamenár moved from Spartak Trnava to Slask Wroclaw in Poland's Ekstraklasa for an undisclosed fee, where he made nine first team appearances. The following season saw him transfer to Vasas of Hungary's Nemzeti Bajnokság II, where he made 21 first team appearances before transferring again to Mlada Boleslav in the Czech First League. There, he made only two appearances before returning, in September 2019, to his first team FC Petržalka 1898 in Slovakia's third division.
To complete his journey, in January 2020, Kamenár returned to Spartak Trnava for an undisclosed fee. While the stats for the current season show no appearances, his loyalty to Trnava remains unwavered.
