Here we have Luke Amos, a native of merry ol' England, born 23rd day of February, 1997, a spritely 27-year old razor-like central midfielder for the mighty Hibernian. A regular feast for the eyes, clocking in at a towering 5ft 10in and a feather-light 11st 4lb. Makes an imposing sight in that number 14 jersey, doesn't he?
Mr. Amos has had an illustrious career at Hibs, marked, of course, by his solitary, blink-and-you-miss-it performance in the dazzling world of Premiership football in the 2024 - 2025 season. But fret not, dear reader, for he has also graced the field, oh so briefly, in the Scottish League Cup and Scottish Cup. Hibernian's substitute bench will never be the same again.
His initial foray into football took place with the underwhelming Southend United in the '16-'17 season, where he occasionally drew breath on the pitch thrice, I am told. Quite unforgettable, I assure you.
Amos had a memorable flirtation, or perhaps we should call it a mere brush, with the hallowed halls of Tottenham Hotspur in '18-'19. One stellar appearance to etch his name in the annals of Spurs' illustrious history.
Ah, the delights of Queens Park Rangers. What joy we share reminiscing about '19-'20, where Luke graced Loftus Road a full 34 times, even scoring twice, the rascal. Followed by sightings of him five more times in '20-'21 and a bountiful 29 times in '21-'22, during which he found the net thrice more than his previous best. Isn't progress wonderful? In the '22-'23 season, he saw the pitch 21 times.
And now, at Hibernian, where the air is obviously thinner, given his seven appearances in the '23-'24 season and one outing in the bright and shiny '24-'25 season. Truly, Luke Amos, we salute your service to the footballing world consecrated by your inviolable number 14 jersey.
