Maik Nawrocki, hailing from the lands of Germany and graced upon us on February 7, 2001, found his prowess on the football pitch as a defender, rightly suiting up as a central defender for Hannover 96. Cold facts paint him as towering personality at 6ft 2in (1.9m) and a sturdy figure at 12st 3lb (78kg). The character of a defender is epitomised by the number 6 jersey he proudly wears. Globe-spanning football database Transfermarkt pegs his market value close to £1.7m.
Thriving under the strict German football training, Nawrocki joined SV Werder Bremen II in their Regionalliga Nord division as a trainee in July 2016. Cutting across European borders, he moved to Warta Poznań in Poland's I Liga on a loan spell in February 2021. In the debut season of 2020-2021 with Warta Poznań, Nawrocki managed to make three first-team appearances and even found the back of the net once.
Nawrocki continued his relationship with Polish football with a second successive loan spell, this time with Legia Warsaw in the Ekstraklasa league in July 2021. Over two seasons, 2021-2022 and 2022-2023, at Legia Warsaw, Nawrocki made 44 first-team appearances and chipped in with five goals.
Legia Warsaw seemed rather impressed with his performance and decided to bring him on board permanently from SV Werder Bremen II in July 2022, with reports suggesting a transfer fee of around £1m.
He then caught the eye of Seahorses from the north - Celtic FC - who brought Nawrocki into the Scottish Premiership in July 2023 for a fee close to £4.3m. In two seasons at Celtic, > 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 Nawrocki had 13 first-team appearances to his name, also scoring once. His time at Celtic, though it lasted for two seasons, was rather uneventful when compared to his goal-scoring exploits in the previous seasons.
As of July 2025, Nawrocki once again found himself starting a new chapter in a new country, this time in Germany with Hannover 96 in the 2. Bundesliga, albeit on loan. In the current 2025-2026 season, Nawrocki has already made five first-team appearances for the German side.
