Nawrocki began his football career in earnest in July 2016, joining SV Werder Bremen II in Germany's Regionalliga Nord as a trainee. During his short stint at Warta Poznań in the 2020-2021 season, he got his break, scoring one goal in three first team appearances.
In July 2021, Nawrocki joined Legia Warsaw in Poland, again on loan from SV Werder Bremen II. During the 2021-2022 season at Legia Warsaw, he made his mark with 19 first team appearances, getting one goal under his belt. This form continued into the following season, where the sturdy defender notched up four goals in 25 appearances.
In July 2022, Nawrocki’s loan to Legia Warsaw became permanent, with the German team selling him for around £1.2 million. His form held admirably through the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons, leaving him with a promising total of five goals from 44 first team appearances.
Nawrocki’s next move, in July 2023, drastically changed his footballing trajectory. He joined the boys in green and white hoops, Celtic, in Scotland's Premiership, for a fee of around £4.3 million. In the 2023-2024 season, he made ten first team league appearances for Celtic, followed by another three the next season, this time finding the net once.
In July 2025, Nawrocki’s time at Celtic came to an end as he transferred to Hannover 96 in Germany's 2. Bundesliga, this time on loan. So far in the current 2025-2026 season, Maik Nawrocki has made eight first team appearances, promising yet another solid season.
