Despite a strong debut season, by June 2023, Leonard retraced his steps back to Brighton & Hove Albion at the closure of his loan period but only for a month as Leonard returned to Northampton Town for another loan spell the following month.
In July 2024, Leonard made a significant move from Brighton & Hove Albion to Birmingham City in the Championship for a fee of £500k. Currently engaged in the 2025 - 2026 season with Birmingham City, Leonard has already delivered a solid 15 first team appearances in league matches.
His thirst for challenges led him to shift his career to Scotland in January 2026, when Leonard transferred from Birmingham City to Hearts on loan. Since joining Hearts for the current 2025 - 2026 season, he has made 10 first-team appearances and found the back of the net once.
