Marc Leonard, born on 19 December 2001 (age 24), is a Scottish centre midfielder with Hearts. He is a neat enough example of the modern young midfielder: plenty of senior football already, not much fuss around the goal column, and still with a bit of career shape to find.
His strongest run of league football came at Northampton Town in 2022–23, when he made 34 appearances and scored once. That tells its own story. Leonard has been more about midfield work than headline numbers, which is no bad thing, provided the rest of the game is tidy enough.
At Hearts in 2025–26, wearing squad number 49, he has made 13 league appearances and scored one league goal. His market value is around £850,000, according to Transfermarkt.
Leonard was linked with a move to Celtic in May 2026 while at Hearts. At this stage, his career is still that of an established professional rather than a finished article: Scottish, central midfield, Northampton grounding, and now trying to make his place at Tynecastle count.
