Born on the 23rd of June 1994, in the heart of Scotland, Marcus Fraser, even at the age of 31, staunchly holds his place as a central defender for St Mirren. Sporting the number 22 jersey and standing at a towering height of 6ft (1.84m), Fraser imposes a strong figure on the field. He balances this height with a solid weight of 12st 12lbs (82kg), almost poetic in its symmetry.
In the July of 2012, a fledgling Marcus Fraser found his footing as a trainee with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. However, his first stint with the hoops was not as illustrious as one might dream, as his debut season only included a solitary in first team appearance.
Subsequent to his short-lived Celtic tenure, Fraser followed a routine Scottish footballer's journey. He was loaned off to Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Lowland League in September of 2014. Though the league differed, Fraser's stint followed a similar pattern, wherein he made 11 appearance during the 2014-2015 season.
January 2015 saw Fraser move on from Celtic's Premiership greens to Ross County in the Scottish Championship. This marked the start of a more consistent playing pattern for Fraser. In the remainder of the 2014-15 season, he made 16 appearances, even scoring a goal.
Through 2015 to 2020, Fraser continued his tenure at Ross County, hitting a season high of 38 appearances in the 2017 - 2018 season. During his stretch at Ross County, he made a total of 141 first team appearances, scoring thrice.
July 2020 saw a change in scenery for Fraser, departing from Ross County in the Championship to line up for St Mirren in the Premiership. Proving to be a regular fixture of the team, he made a whopping 260 first team appearances till the current season of 2025-2026, in which he's clocked up another 27 appearances, and scored 4 goals.
In addition to league games, Marcus Fraser turned his attention to the League Cup and the Scottish Cup during the 2025 - 2026 season for St Mirren, scoring a goal in the former, across seven starts, and starting three times in the latter.
From a fledgling at Celtic to a constant figure at St Mirren, Marcus Fraser's career, long and winding though not glistening with glory, provides a poignant picture of perseverance and steady contribution to his teams.
