Martin Boyle, born on 25 April 1993, is a Scottish football forward currently aligned with Hibernian. With preference for the right winger position, the 5ft 10in (1.78m) player cuts a formidable figure on the field, his jersey adorned with the number 10. Alongside his domestic career, Boyle also honours his Australian heritage on the international stage.
In July 2009, the budding athlete's career took flight as a trainee at Montrose, where he honed his skills in the League One in Scotland. Across four seasons he clocked impressive appearances and goal tallies, most notably in his third year where he netted 22 times from 36 matches.
His performance at Montrose attracted the eye of Premiership side Dundee, which welcomed Boyle into its ranks in August 2012 for an undisclosed price. Although his first season saw a lower goal return, he remained a crucial asset to the team, even in the seasons following a brief and surprising loan back to Montrose in early 2013.
However, Boyle's heart remained with the Premiership, and upon completing his loan, he returned to Dundee before being loaned out again, this time to Hibernian, in January 2015. Following his permanent transfer to Hibernian later that year, Boyle's skills matured as he would regularly find the back of the net across numerous seasons.
In a surprising twist, this dedicated Hibs player embarked on an international adventure, transferring to Al-Faisaly in Saudi Arabia's First Division for a fee hovering around £3m in January 2022. Albeit, his time there was brief and by August that year, Boyle found himself back on familiar grounds with Hibernian, where he continues to make waves in Scotland's Premiership.
As of the current 2025 - 2026 season, Boyle has appeared 18 times and scored five goals. Indeed, he has also demonstrated his abilities on an international stage, scoring twice in the World Cup Qualifiers Asia 2024 - 2026 for Australia and thrice in the Conference League Qualifiers for Hibernian. Quite fitting for a player of his caliber, Martin Boyle continues to give his all for his club, country, and the beautiful game.
