Mason Melia is a nitty-gritty type of forward. Born in the Republic of Ireland on 1st October 2007, he's an athletic chap. Stands tip-toe at 5ft 10in and weighs 12st 8lb. His vocation is banging in goals for St. Patrick's Athletic, with a preference for occupying the striker's role.
He first kicked a ball in anger for St. Patrick in 2023. During his debut season, he made 10 appearances and scored twice. Not a bad start, all considered.
He's been a tad busier in the 2024 season, stepping out for the first team 25 times. His returns have been slightly better too, finding the net thrice. Displays a knack for showing up when it matters, does Mason. Somewhat of an approved substitute, featuring off the bench in 13 Premier Division matches, and has 12 starts under his belt for the season.
Melia has also dipped his toes in European waters, making a pair of starts in the Conference League Qualifiers in the 2024-2025 season. Even had a run out in the President's Cup, though he went the nod from the bench for that one.
Overall, Mason Melia is shaping up to be a decent prospect. Aged 16, he's got time on his side. And if he keeps putting in the effort, there's no telling where he might end up.
