Born on the 18th of July, 1996, 29 year-old Max Stryjek hails from Poland and is currently employed as Kilmarnock's first-choice goalkeeper. Measuring 6ft 2in (1.88m) tall and tipping the scales at 12st 10lb (81kg), he is an imposing figure between the sticks. As befits his position, he wears the prestigious number 1 jersey. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, hovers around the £298.5k mark.
Stryjek's career began in earnest with his transfer from Polonia Bytom in the I Liga in Poland to Sunderland in the Premier League in January 2013. The fee was undisclosed, in common with many of his subsequent moves. Following a spell at Sunderland, Stryjek departed for Accrington Stanley on loan in August 2017, making a singular appearance for them in the 2017 - 2018 season. Stryjek returned to Sunderland on completion of his loan tenure in January 2018.
In a pattern of temporary departures, he was again loaned out in September 2018, this time to Eastleigh in the National League. As with his stint at Accrington, this was a short-lived arrangement and he returned to Sunderland in December 2018. His next transfer was permanent, though - in July 2019, he traded Sunderland for Eastleigh.
Having gained a sense of permanence at Eastleigh, Stryjek moved north to Livingston in the Scottish Premiership in July 2020. Over the course of two seasons at Livingston (2020 - 2021 and 2021 – 2022), he accumulated a total of 57 league appearances. August 2022 saw yet another move, this time to Wycombe Wanderers in England's League One. Here, he made a solid 30 appearances in the 2022 - 2023 season.
Stryjek’s precocious spirit exhibited itself once again as he undertaking a brief loan tenure at Crewe Alexandra in April 2024. Following the completion of this loan in June 2024, he returned to Wycombe, where he replicated his previous season's tally of 30 games. A shift in gear saw Stryjek return home to Poland, signing for Jagiellonia Bialystok in the Ekstraklasa in July 2024, though he only made three appearances in the 2024 - 2025 season.
Yet another move was on the horizon, though, with Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership his destination in July 2025. At Kilmarnock, he is currently enjoying the 2025 - 2026 season, already notching up seven appearances for his new club and taking part in the 2025 - 2026 League Cup, taking to the field four times.
