Michael Duffy, born in Derry on 28 July 1994 (age 32), started out at Derry City before Celtic brought him to Glasgow in February 2015. A Republic of Ireland player and primarily a left winger, he had his Celtic connection early, before the more substantial parts of his senior career unfolded elsewhere.
He left Celtic in February 2017 for Dundalk, a move that gave his career a clearer platform. His best league return came there in 2019, when he scored 12 goals in 34 appearances, the sort of output that made him more than just another wide player passing through.
After Dundalk, Duffy established himself more fully back at Derry City. In 2026 he remains a regular first-team presence, with 21 league appearances and eight league goals, alongside European qualifying involvement and 26 appearances in all competitions for Derry, scoring nine times.
His career has run from Derry to Celtic, on to Dundalk, and back to Derry City, where he is still contributing in a senior role. The Celtic spell was an early chapter; the more settled body of work has come in Ireland.
