Mike Eerdhuijzen, born on the 13th of July 2000 in the Netherlands, is a forceful presence in the heart of FC Utrecht's defence. At the age of 25, the Dutchman has already seen considerable experience within the game, owing to his towering height of 1.91m (6ft3in) and his solid build of 85kg (13st 5lb). He often dons the number 44 jersey, giving a hint of his footballing individuality.
His current market value sits at a comfortable €1.70m, or roughly £1.5m here in the Queen's currency according to Transfermarkt.
Eerdhuijzen embarked on his professional journey at FC Volendam, joining the Eredivisie side as a trainee in July 2016. It was during the 2018 - 2019 season that he made his first senior appearance, sparking a steady upward trajectory that saw him making 22 appearances and netting a goal during the 2021 - 2022 season for Volendam.
Association football, being the unpredictable creature that it is, saw Eerdhuijzen trade Volendam for Sparta Rotterdam in July 2022. His star continued to rise at Sparta Rotterdam, making appearances with increasing frequency and finding the back of the net twice across three seasons leading up to 2024 - 2025.
Such consistent performances inevitably drew attention, and soon FC Utrecht were calling. A move ensued in July 2025, with Eerdhuijzen swapping teams for a fee around £1.1m. So far in the current 2025 - 2026 season, he has made six appearances for his new club in the Eredivisie league.
Apart from lending his skills to the league, Eerdhuijzen has also participated in the KNVB Beker 2025 - 2026 competition and the Europa League 2025 - 2026 for FC Utrecht, proving himself to be a versatile player, as comfortable in domestic action as in the glimmer of European competition.
