Mohamed Bangura, born on the 27th of July 1989, hails from Sierra Leone and is known for his prowess as a striker. At 5ft 10in (1.8m) in height and weighing 12st 10lb (81kg), he is a formidable presence on the pitch.
Bangura joined AIK, a team in Sweden's Allsvenskan, in July 2010. During his first season in 2010, he made 13 appearances and scored six goals. He continued to perform well, making 20 first team appearances and scoring seven goals in 2011, and making another 10 appearances and scoring four goals in 2012. His final season with AIK in 2015 saw him making 30 first team appearances, managing to score eight goals.
In August 2011, Bangura transferred from AIK to Celtic, a team in Scotland's Premiership, for a fee of around £2.2m. During his 2011-2012 season at Celtic, he made ten first team appearances. In the following 2012-2013 season, he made just a single appearance.
Bangura left Celtic in August 2012 to rejoin AIK in Sweden on loan, where he maintained a similar pace as his initial run with AIK. Following this, in January 2013, he transferred again from Celtic to IF Elfsborg in Sweden on loan. Here, he made 27 first team appearances and scored six goals in 2013.
His journey from Celtic continued as he transferred to Istanbul Basaksehir in Turkey's Süper Lig in February 2014. During the 2013-2014 season, he made eight first team appearances, managing to score a single goal. The following season, he did not make any first team appearances.
In January 2015, he transferred once again, moving from Istanbul Basaksehir back to AIK in Sweden, where he recreated his initial success. After a further transfer to the Dalian Professional team in China's League One in January 2016 for a fee of around £700k, he made his final moves, firstly to Dalkurd FF in Sweden's Division 1 Norra in January 2017, making six first team appearances and scoring a single goal, and finally to Akropolis IF, also in the Division 1 Norra in Sweden, in April 2018. His last recorded transfer was in December 2018.
