Mohamed Bayo, born on 4 June 1998 (age 27), is a Guinea international striker on the books of Lille. His current market value is around £3.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His clearest breakthrough came at Clermont Foot, where the 2020-21 league season gave his career proper shape. He scored 22 goals in 38 appearances, the sort of return that tends to move a centre-forward out of the interesting category and into the expensive one.
Bayo later became a Lille player, though his career has not simply settled into one straight line. In 2025-26 he had a productive league spell with Gaziantep, making 29 appearances and scoring 15 goals. He also remained involved with Guinea, making one appearance in African World Cup qualifying this season.
His career so far is that of a striker with one outstanding scoring season in France, a Lille contract, and evidence of continued productivity elsewhere. There is enough there to explain the interest, without needing to dress it up as anything more grand than that.
