Our dear lad Nick Suman, born on that unforgettable day, the 28th of February in the year 2000, hails from the land of kangaroos, Australia. He plies his trade as a goalkeeper for the admirable, though hardly enviable, Aberdeen. Standing at a lofty 6ft 5in (1.97m for those of you living in the 21st century), he’s quite the sight in the goal. He carries 13st 9lb (87kg) on his frame and flaunts, of all things, the number 13 jersey. Talk about playing with superstition.
Oh, the vibrant year of 2015, Suman decided to embark on his footballing journey. He joined the Western Sydney Wanderers in the A-League, in his homeland of Australia, no less, as a dashing trainee. He broke into their first team in the 2018 - 2019 season, making a grand total of four appearances. Only managed one the following season – if anyone is keeping count.
In the blossoming days of August 2020, Suman decided to transfer his somewhat limited talents from Western Sydney Wanderers to Macarthur FC - another shining beacon in Australia’s A-League. Here, in the 2021 - 2022 and 2022 - 2023 seasons, he lived up to his former record by making three first team appearances. Both times. Consistency, right?
The delightful month of July 2023 found our Suman packing his bags and hopping over to play for the Cove Rangers in Scotland’s League One. Meanwhile, the world of football barely registered the ripple.
Fast forward to 2025, our courageous goalkeeper decides to step up his game by transferring his services to Aberdeen, a club competing in Scotland’s Premiership. As for the current season of 2025 - 2026, his contribution to Aberdeen's campaign has been, rather unsurprisingly, non-existent.
