Let's discuss our favourite bairn, shall we? Nicky Hogarth was given birth to on 4 July 2001, making him a 24-year-old who already has a considerable resume of club scanner-hopping, a certain talent in this era of football mercenaries. He hails from our own stormy shores. Standing at a not excessively intimidating, but moderately impressive, 5ft 11in (1.82m) and weighing in at 11st 6lb (73kg), this lad is a gatekeeper of the goals, a custodian of the crossbar, a goal minder, who, quite tellingly, dons the almighty number 1 jersey for Falkirk.
According to those armchair analysts over at Transfermarkt, Hogarth’s market value stands approximately around €150k or as we prefer, around £129k. What the lad did to impress these football statisticians is anybody’s guess, but they seem to have put a price on him anyway.
We must regrettably touch upon his time at that 'other' club. In July 2017, Hogarth joined Rangers in the Premiership as a trainee, presumably to be indoctrinated with their particular brand of, ahem, 'football'. Now here's a fun timeline - In January 2020, he was sent to Stirling Albion on loan, then in December the same year, he was again loaned out - this time to Cowdenbeath. And come July of the following year, he was shunted off to Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League.
By August 2022, he was back in Scotland with Falkirk, first on loan, then permanently by July 2023. After a debut season that featured a commendable but not exactly earth-shattering 15 first team appearances in league matches, he managed to up his game the following season, securing 36 appearances and doing the same old thing in the current 2025 - 2026 season, protecting the net for Falkirk in their quest to... well, remain Falkirk. Fancy that.
His exploits also include taking Falkirk out for a wee stroll in the League Cup 2025 - 2026 with two starts, and making a solitary appearance in the iconic Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025. Whether these exploits are merely the start of decent journey or the zenith of a mediocre career, only time will tell. For now, let's just say, more power to him, or whatever enthusiasm is deemed fit for such startling performances in football’s grand stages.
