Nikolas Nartey, the Danish midfield dynamo, was born on 22 February 2000. At a towering 6ft (1.85m) and a robust 12st 8lb (80kg), Nartey has been dominating football fields as a central midfielder for the vibrant city club, Stuttgart. Over the years, he has also extended his football expertise on the international platform, representing the Denmark national team harmoniously.
Regarded as a lucrative prospect in the football arena, Nartey's current market value stands at a remarkable £1.5m, a figure derived from the renowned resource, Transfermarkt.
Nartey's journey to the German leagues began in January 2017. He pirouetted away from FC Copenhagen and embraced Cologne in Germany's Bundesliga; a move that reportedly cost around £340k. His tenure in Cologne was marked by limited field exposure; a single league appearance made in both the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons.
In the sun-baked month of August 2019, Nartey embarked on a new adventure, transferring from Cologne to play for Stuttgart, again in the Bundesliga. The fee for this transfer remained undisclosed but Nartey's progression was evident; he consistently increased his league appearances at Stuttgart over the seasons. The current 2025-2026 season has already seen him take to the field 19 times, punctuating his tenure with a proud goal to his name.
Amidst his Stuttgart journey, Nartey had brief stints with other teams, all on loan, starting with a transfer to Germany's Hansa Rostock in 3. Liga in August 2019. Nartey made 19 first team appearances at Hansa Rostock in the 2019-2020 season and stamped his mark with a lone goal. Post Hansa Rostock, Nartey returned to Stuttgart briefly in July 2020, before another loan experience beckoned him.
It was July 2020 when Sandhausen, based in the Regionalliga Südwest, welcomed Nartey on loan from Stuttgart. His tenureship at Sandhausen was embellished with 24 first team appearances in, arguably, one of his more game-rich seasons. A year later, in June 2021, Nartey returned to Stuttgart, resuming his journey with the Bundesliga team.
In addition to his appearances in league matches, Nartey had the honour of participating in the DFL-Supercup 2025-2026 for Stuttgart, where he made a solitary appearance as a substitute and he also graced the pitch three times in the Europa League 2025-2026 as a substitute player.
