Odsonne Édouard, born on 16 January 1998, is a Guianese-French forward known for his role as a striker for Ligue 1's Lens. Standing at a modest 6ft 1in (1.87 metres) and weighing approximately 13 stones (83 kilograms), Édouard dons the number 11 jersey. His current market value is claimed to be around €8.00m, roughly £6.7m, as per Transfermarkt.
Édouard's professional career started with him joining Paris Saint-Germain as a trainee in July 2011. This relation carried forward till August 2016, upon which he transferred on loan to Toulouse, also a part of Ligue 1, wherein he racked up 16 first team appearances and scored a single goal during the 2016 - 2017 season.
In August 2017, Édouard made a significant move by branching out of France and joining Celtic in the Scottish Premiership on loan. It quickly became apparent that this would be a fruitful relationship. During his debut 2017 - 2018 season at Celtic, Édouard participated in 22 first team matches and notched nine goals. His prolific standing continued through the 2018 - 2019 season with 32 appearances and 15 goals, and an even more impressive 2019 - 2020 season saw him score 22 goals in his 27 matches. In the 2020 - 2021 season, he made 31 appearances whilst scoring 18 goals, and despite the next season seeing only four appearances, he was still able to tally two goals.
In July 2018, Celtic demonstrated their belief in Édouard's talent by transferring him from Paris Saint-Germain in France for a fee of about £9m. Their investment was duly rewarded with the earlier mentioned prolific performances from Édouard.
Following his tenure at Celtic, Édouard transferred to Crystal Palace in England's Premier League in August 2021 for a fee of around £14m. His time at Crystal Palace, which still continues, involved appearances and goals across different seasons. Particularly memorable were his performances in the 2021 - 2022 season (28 appearances, six goals), the 2022 - 2023 season (35 appearances, five goals), and the 2023 - 2024 season (30 appearances, seven goals).
Édouard briefly found himself at Leicester City, a Championship club in England, during August 2024 as part of a loan deal. Here he managed four first team appearances. Upon completion of his loan in June 2025, he returned to Crystal Palace.
In September of 2025, he moved from Crystal Palace to Lens in the Ligue 1 in France for an undisclosed fee. As of the current season of 2025 - 2026 at Lens, Édouard has clocked up 18 appearances and eight goals in league matches thus far.
