Odysseas Vlachodimos, born on 26 April 1994 (age 32), is a Greece international goalkeeper with Newcastle United. A commanding 6ft 3in (1.90m), he has built his career around the less glamorous requirements of the position: presence, concentration and accepting long spells where the job is to be ready rather than visible.
His early senior football included Stuttgart II, where he made three league appearances in the 2011-12 season. From there, his career developed into full international standing with Greece, and his current market value is around £4.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
At Newcastle United, Vlachodimos has had a quiet 2025-26 league campaign, with no league appearances so far. He has still been involved internationally, making three appearances for Greece in European World Cup qualifying this season.
Vlachodimos’ career is that of an established goalkeeper who has moved from early reserve-team football in Germany to the Premier League and regular involvement with Greece. At Newcastle, his current role has been limited, but his international place keeps him relevant beyond club minutes.
