Owen Hayward, a sprightly figure with a birth date etched on the 29th of May 2005, hails from the emerald landscapes of Scotland and boasts an impressive record as a goalkeeper. A committed player but a silent sentinel under the posts, he serves his time on the pitch with Falkirk, adorning the number 27 jersey with customary aplomb.
In the sun-kissed summer of July 2022, Hayward took to the field, not as a casual Sunday leaguer but as a professional goalkeeper, taking his place between the sticks for Falkirk in the Scottish Championship. His debut season had all the makings of a top-flight player in the making.
Interestingly, a twist in the tale occurred a year later. In September 2023, Hayward packed his bags and bid his teammates at Falkirk farewell to join Penicuik Athletic of the Junior Teams in Scotland. Albeit a loan move, it was yet another rung climbed on the ladder of his football career. A chance to prove his mettle amongst a different crowds and do justice to his talent.
However, the revelry of new pastures was short-lived. Hayward was summoned back to his parent club Falkirk in June 2024, a year after his initiation into the fold of Penicuik Athletic. His loan spell had ended, and he was once again to guard the goalpost in the Scottish Championship with Falkirk.
And so continues the tale of Owen Hayward, a tale laced with moves and saves, trials and triumphs, which, with time, is bound to inscribe more chapters of glory in the annals of Scottish football.
