Owen Wijndal is a Dutch footballer born on the 28th November 1999. Standing at 5ft 8in and weighing in at 10st 9lb, Wijndal is a steadfast defender, strutting his stuff primarily in the left back position. His number 5 jersey has seen action with multiple clubs, but predominantly Ajax.
His football journey finds its genesis at AZ in the Netherlands during the 2016-2017 season. A somewhat lacklustre debut season only witnessed a single first team appearance. Complementing his performance in the next season, Wijndal managed to make seven first team appearances for AZ.
The 2017-2018 season bore some fruit for Wijndal. At Jong AZ, he marked his presence on the pitch 16 times and managed to knock in two goals. He demonstrated consistent play in the following season making 19 first team appearances for Jong AZ.
In the 2018-2019 season, Wijndal found some of his previous pace, managing eight first team appearances for AZ. His role widened in the 2019-2020 season where he made 24 first team appearances and scored a goal. His upward trajectory continued into the 2020-2021 season with an impressive 34 first team appearances and another goal. The 2021-2022 season displayed similar play with 31 first team appearances and a goal to his name.
Moving to Ajax in the 2022-2023 season, Wijndal was clearly no stranger to the pitch making 20 first team appearances. Curiously, his track in the 2023-2024 season dulled as he was limited to only two first team appearances.
In the same 2023-2024 season, Wijndal juggled clubs briefly, playing for Royal Antwerp. Making 20 first team appearances he also scored a goal.
In the 2024-2025 season, Wijndal has so far failed to make any first team appearances for Ajax. An unusual slackening for a defender of his previous demonstrated resolve.
