Pierre Ekwah, a French footballer born on 15 January 2002 and now 24 years of age, presently plies his trade with Saint-Etienne. As a midfielder, his abilities primarily lie in the defensive realm. His stature of 1.89m (or 6ft 2in) and his weight of 78kg (12st 3lb) enable him to command his space on the pitch, playing with number 4 on his back.
According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated around £2.5m.
Ekwah's journey in professional football has seen him traverse across English and French football leagues. His initial move, in July 2021, saw him make a move within the English Premier League, from Chelsea to West Ham United, for an amount that has remained undisclosed.
He then had a short stint with Sunderland, transferring there in January 2023, again for an undisclosed figure. In his debut 2022-2023 season with Sunderland, he made 14 first-team appearances. His contributions increased significantly in the next season, 2023-2024, where he made 40 first-team appearances and netted five goals.
In August 2024, he was packed off on an excursion to France, on loan to Saint-Etienne in the Ligue 2, where he made 29 first-team appearances and scored one goal in his debut 2024-2025 season. However, his record for the current season (2025-2026) remains unblemished, having made no first-team appearances to date.
Ekwah's move to Saint-Etienne moved from a temporary arrangement to a permanent one in August 2025, with the transfer fee amounting to around £5.2m. The current season (2025-2026), however, still sees Ekwah waiting to make his mark, with no first-team appearances as yet.
