Rami Gershon was born on 12 August 1988 in Israel, making him 37 years of age. He is a highly competent defender, with particular skills and experience as a central defender, currently serving Maccabi Haifa. Standing at 6ft 2in (1.89m) and weighing 12 stone 12 pounds (82kg), Gershon is an imposing figure on the pitch. He proudly sports the number 55 jersey.
Gershon's professional career in European football initiated in July 2009 with, according to Transfermarkt, a transfer to Standard Liege in Belgium's Pro League. During his debut season 2009-2010, he made a single appearance in first team league matches. His later term 2011-2012 saw Gershon featuring nine times in the primary squad, repeating his debut season performance with one appearance in the subsequent season 2012-2013.
July 2010 brought Gershon to Kortrijk in the Challenger Pro League, Belgium, on loan terms. There, he struck an upward trajectory with 27 first team appearances and a goal to his name in 2010-2011. Despite reducing team appearances to 11 in the following season 2011-2012, his role at Kortrijk proved substantial.
On completing his loan period in January 2012, Gershon returned to Standard Liege for the debut season. His performance persisted as a constant during his second spell, echoing previous terms with sporadic appearances.
A significant career move followed when, in January 2013, Gershon went on loan to the renowned Celtic Football Club, performing in Scotland's Premiership. His era at Celtic, although brief, was impactful with three appearances and one goal to his name in the 2012-2013 season. Subsequent transfers saw him joining Belgian clubs Waasland-Beveren (2013) and Gent (2014), before ultimately settling at Maccabi Haifa in Israel in August 2017. Playing for Maccabi, he was part of their Europa League 2023-2024 squad with three starts, and similarly made three starts in the Conference League in the same year.
As of the current season of 2025-2026, Gershon has not yet made first team league appearances for Maccabi Haifa, but his considerable past contributions around Europe forge an impressive and eclectic football career nonetheless.
