Born on 30th November 1999 in Belgium, Rocky Bushiri is now a 26 year old professional footballer. As a defender, he primarily performs as a central defender for the currently in-vogue Hibernian Football Club, located in the sublime capital of Scotland. Clad in the jersey numbered 33, Bushiri's measurements of weight and height are rather impressive - approximately 6â1â (1.87m) in height and around 13st 12lb (88kg). On an international level, he has bestowed his footballing abilities upon the DR Congo national team.
The roots of Bushiri's club career lay in his native Belgium with Oostende, where he joined as a trainee in July 2016, taking part in the third tier of Belgian football known as the Derde Klasse. After making two first team appearances in his debut season of 2017-2018, he moved on loan to Eupen in the Challenger Pro league in Belgium.
Bushiri's 2018-2019 season with Eupen saw him making 23 first team appearances, with another stint in the 2020-2021 season resulting in one additional appearance. Following this, the bustling city of Norwich, England was the next stop on his footballing journey. Norwich City acquired Bushiri from Oostende in July 2019 for an undisclosed fee.
Norwich City promptly loaned Bushiri out to English League One side, Blackpool, in August 2019. His travels then took him back to Belgium for another loan spell in January 2020, this time with Sint-Truiden in the Pro League. This resulted in him making seven appearances in the 2019-2020 season. Yet another loan spell awaited him in July 2020, this time with Mechelen also in the Pro League where he made six appearances in the 2020-2021 season.
Bushiri's journey took him full circle in January 2021 when Norwich City sent him on loan once again to Eupen where he had made an initial 23 appearances back in the 2018-2019 season. Upon his return, he made just one appearance in the 2020-2021 season.
In January 2022, Bushiri made a pivotal switch from Norwich City in England to Hibernian in Scotland, initially on loan. Since then, he has made his presence well known, appearing in 14 first team matches in the 2021-2022 season. He then became a full-time Hibernian player in July 2022 when a permanent transfer from Norwich City was agreed for an undisclosed fee. His performance record since joining Hibernian on a permanent basis, has been steadily growing. With numbers including 15 appearances in the 2022-2023 season, 27 appearances in 2023-2024 season, 28 appearances in the 2024-2025 season, and finally 19 appearances in the 2025-2026 season, his contributions to the Hibernian defence are solidifying multiple seasons at the club.
Throughout his career, Bushiri has also participated in a number of momentous tournaments. In 2025 he took part in the Africa Cup of Nations for DR Congo, and in the same season he started in the League Cup and Scottish Cup for Hibernian. Moreover, he played in the 2024-2026 World Cup qualifiers representing DR Congo, and scored once in the Europa League Qualifiers 2025-2026 and once in the Conference League Qualifiers 2025-2026, whilst representing Hibernian.
