Rodrigo Zalazar, born on 12 August 1999 (age 27), is a Uruguayan central attacking midfielder with Sporting CP, where he wears No. 17. His current market value is around £15.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Zalazar’s strongest league return came at SC Braga in 2025–26, when he scored 16 goals in 28 appearances. That was the sort of output that moves a midfielder from useful to properly noticed, without requiring much embroidery.
At Sporting CP in 2026–27, he has made seven Liga Portugal appearances and scored once, with another goal coming in his one Champions League outing. Across all competitions for the club, he has eight appearances and two goals. He has also been involved with Uruguay this season, making two appearances in South American World Cup qualifying.
His career, as it stands, is that of an established attacking midfielder who has turned a productive Braga spell into a place at one of Portugal’s bigger clubs, while remaining in the Uruguay picture.
