Ruairidh Adams, born on 10 July 2004, is a Scottish goalie who currently exercises his talents between the pipes for Dundee United. Standing a respectable 1.84m (6ft) tall, and weighing in at 72kg (11st 4lb), Adams cuts a reliable figure in the goalmouth, and can be easily identified on the pitch, mainly through his jersey adorned with the number 31.
Adams' career has been colourful to say the least, having had the opportunity to experience the different levels of Scottish football within a relatively short span. In March 2021, Adams secured a trainee position with Dundee United, placing him amongst the ranks of the Premiership's budding talents.
A mere three years later, in January 2024, Adams was temporarily transferred from Dundee United to League Two's Edinburgh City. The loan proved to be a brief detour in his career path as he returned to Dundee United in June of the same year.
Yet, as summer bloomed in July 2024, another loan switch beckoned for the young keeper. This time, Adams found himself guarding the goalmouth for Kelty Hearts, a club competing in the League One tier of Scottish football. However, much like his stint at Edinburgh City, this venture was of a temporary nature, and by June 2025, Adams had packed up and returned to his parent club, Dundee United.
Just a couple of months later in August, another loan transfer came calling. East Fife, another League One team, was the next destination for the ever-travelling goalie. Keeping the trend alive, this loan spell was also a brief affair, ending in November 2025, at which point Adams returned home to Dundee United.
Without a doubt, Adams' journey through the various leagues of Scottish football has been one of experience, resilience, and growth. Whether at Dundee United or on loan elsewhere, he continues to develop his skills, gaining valuable insight from each of his footballing ventures.
