Ryan Edwards, an English defender born on the 7th of October, 1993 (32 years of age), clad in the number 25 jersey, currently graces the pitch for Falkirk. Standing tall at 6 foot 3 inches (1.93m), and weighing in at 14 stones and 2 pounds (90kg), his presence in central defence becomes difficult to overlook.
His career timeline follows a series of loans in the early years. Beginning in July 2012, he moved from Blackburn Rovers in the Championship to Rochdale in the National League, where he made 26 first-team appearances in his debut season. February 2013 saw him make the move to Fleetwood Town in League Two, with a tally of nine first-team appearances for that season.
Subsequently in July 2013, Edwards transferred to Chesterfield in the League Two. This loan spell yielded five first team appearances. November 2013 marked a move from Blackburn Rovers in the Championship to Tranmere Rovers in the League Two, followed by a further loan to Morecambe in the National League in March 2014.
Edwards' stint at Morecambe proved to be significant. He initially joined on loan, but permanent transfer from Blackburn Rovers was effected in July 2014. Over four seasons, he made progressively more first team appearances each season. With the culmination of his time at Morecambe, he had made a grand total of 120 league appearances, along with netting two goals.
In July 2017, Edwards moved from Morecambe to Plymouth Argyle in the League One for an undisclosed fee, where in the following season he made 25 first team appearances and scored three goals. Two years later in July 2019, his journey took him to Blackpool in the League One.
Fast forward to August 2020, Edwards made the move to Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership. Over the three season period, he made 92 first-team appearances and scored six goals. The journey eastward continued with a transfer to Chennaiyin in the Super League in India in September 2023.
After a couple of years abroad, Edwards returned to Scotland in November 2025 to ply his trade at Falkirk in the Premiership. In the current season (2025-2026), he has so far made four first team appearances in league matches.
