Fulton's professional journey began in July 2015 with Liverpool in the Premier League, but he was subsequently loaned out to Portsmouth in January 2016. Although he only managed to make 12 appearances in league matches during his debut season, it was a stepping stone in his career.
In July 2016, still registered to Liverpool, Fulton was once again sent out on loan, this time to Chesterfield in League Two. His tenure there saw him making more appearances in comparison to his previous stint, recording 26 league appearances in total.
