Santiago Bueno, a Uruguayan footballer born on 9 November 1998, aged 25, has crafted his career as a central defender. Standing tall at impressive stature of 6ft 2in (1.9m) and with a weight of 11st 13lb (76kg), Bueno currently plies his trade at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the position of a central defender, donning the number 4 jersey.
The story of his career travels began back in January 2017 when he was transferred from Penarol, playing in Primera División Uruguay, to FC Barcelona B in Spain's Second Division B/1. The transfer was made with a sizeable fee totalling around £900k. His time in Catalonia wouldn't be long-lived however.
Just a year later, in January 2018, Bueno went on loan from FC Barcelona B to Peralda, a team in the lower Spanish divisions. After spending a year gaining valuable experience, Buenos returned to Barcelona, only to be again transferred, this time to Girona in the LaLiga, Spain's premier football division in August 2019.
In his debut season (2019 - 2020) at Girona, Bueno made a modest start, with a solitary first team appearance in league matches. The subsequent seasons, however, saw a significant rise, with him making a commendable 36 team appearances and netting two goals in the league matches during the 2020 - 2021 season. This performance standards were maintained in the following season (2021 - 2022) with 31 first team appearances and a goal to his name. In the 2022 - 2023 season, his consistency continued, contributing to Girona's effort with 34 first team appearances.
After serving Girona for several years, the August of 2023 marked the dawn of a new era. Bueno was transferred to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League, England, for a considerable fee of around £8.5m. His debut season at Wolverhampton (2023 - 2024) saw him making 12 first team appearances in the league matches and the current season (2024 - 2025) shows him with two appearances to his name so far.
Furthermore, his contributions haven't been limited to the league. He had his share of appearances in the FA Cup 2023 - 2024 for Wolverhampton Wanderers with four starts and took part in the League Cup 2024 - 2025 with two starts.
