Sebastian Tounekti was born on 13th July 2002 in Norway, which makes him 23 years old. He plays primarily as a left winger for Celtic Football Club. With a build of 5ft 7in (1.71m) tall and weighing 10st 3lb (65kg), Tounekti is a formidable figure on the pitch, easily recognisable in his number 23 jersey. He has also represented the Tunisia national team.
As of now, his market value hovers around the £3.4m mark, according to Transfermarkt.
Tounekti's journey in professional football began when he moved from Tromsdalen in the 2. Divisjon of Norway to Bodo Glimt in the Eliteserien league in March 2020. Although the fee involved in the transfer remains undisclosed, his inaugural season saw him make nine appearances for the first team, scoring one goal in the process. His involvement continued in the next season with a further five first team appearances.
In August 2021, Tounekti was loaned to FC Groningen in the Netherlands' Eredivisie. His return in June 2022 marked the beginning of another stint with Bodo Glimt, where he again played in nine matches and scored a goal in his debut Bodo Glimt season, following it up with appearances in five league matches in 2021.
August 2022 saw yet another move for Tounekti, this time to OBOS-ligaen's Haugesund in Norway. In his first year, he played five first team league matches. The next year he was on the pitch seven times. His performance reached new heights in the 2024 season as he made 29 appearances and found the net four times.
Tounekti journeyed to Sweden in February 2025, signing with Allsvenskan's Hammarby IF for a sum close to a £1m. His lone season there saw him score two goals in 21 appearances. However, fate had larger plans as he was signed by Scotland's Celtic Football Club in the Scottish Premiership in September 2025. He has already made 18 appearances and netted twice in the ongoing 2025 - 2026 season.
His international performances echo his club successes. He participated in the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 for Tunisia, making one start and two substitute appearances. For Celtic, he has scored once in the League Cup 2025 - 2026 and twice in the Scottish Cup 2025 - 2026. Tounekti also made appearances in the World Cup Qualifiers Africa 2024 - 2026 for Tunisia and had a substantial role in Celtic's Europa League 2025 - 2026 campaign.
