Teemu Pukki, born on 29 March 1990 (age 36) in Kotka, is a Finnish striker with a career that has taken a few turns since his early days. One early marker was a debut goal during a spell away from his parent club, a useful start for a forward still trying to establish himself.
Celtic signed him from Schalke 04 in August 2013 for around £3m. It was a sizeable fee and a move that carried obvious expectation, but his time in Glasgow was never the most settled or convincing part of his career. In July 2015 he left Celtic for Brondby for around £600,000.
Brondby gave him another platform after Celtic, and his most productive club spell came later at Norwich City. In the 2018-2019 league season he scored 29 goals in 43 appearances, the sort of return that made his finishing look rather more reliable than it had in Glasgow. Minnesota United also formed part of his post-Celtic route.
Pukki is now with HJK, wearing squad number 20, and remains a regular first-team presence in 2026. He has made 24 Veikkausliiga appearances this year, scoring five goals.
His career has run from Finland to Germany, Celtic, Denmark, England, the United States and back to HJK. The Norwich years stand out as his strongest scoring spell, while he remains active and involved in Finland in his mid-thirties.
