Tyler Blackett, born 2 April 1994 in England, is a battle-tested defender who spent the majority of his career playing as a central defender. At nearly 6ft 2inches tall (1.88m), and weighing a sturdy 13 stone (83kg), he forged a reputation as a gallant competitor on the pitch.
In July 2011, he joined the ranks at Manchester United in the English Premier League. Over the course of the 2014 - 2015 season, he made 11 first team appearances in league matches.
Blackett's maiden move away from Manchester United was a loan spell with Blackpool in England's League One in November 2013. During the 2013 - 2014 season, he clocked up five first team appearances in league matches. Upon his return to Manchester United in January 2014, Blackett went on to add another 11 first team appearances in league matches to his name.
In January 2014, he was loaned out again, but this time to Birmingham City in the English Championship, where he made eight first team appearances in league matches. This was followed by another return to Manchester United in May 2014, during which he added to his first team appearances.
In what may have seemed an exotic escapade, Blackett was sent on loan to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership in August 2015. With only three first team appearances in league matches during the 2015-16, he was seen as a mere fringe player during his time at Celtic.
He finally cut ties with Manchester United in August 2016, when he moved to Reading in England's League One for an undisclosed fee. At Reading, Blackett racked up a respectable tally of first team appearances over four seasons.
By August 2020, he had moved to Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League where he made 14 first team appearances in league matches. However, the time came for a change in August 2021, when he was transferred to FC Cincinnati in the USA's Major League Soccer (MLS) for an undisclosed fee.
After racking up 31 first team appearances, including one goal over two seasons, Blackett was back in England once again in March 2023. This time, he had transferred to Rotherham United in the English League One.
In the 2022 - 2023 season, he got his boots dirty with six first team appearances in league matches. He built on his tenure with Rotherham United in the 2023 - 2024 season, enjoying ten first team appearances and scoring a goal in the process.
As of June 2024, Blackett had transferred out from Rotherham United in the English League One to an unspecified destination.
