Wesley, born on 6 September 2003 (age 22), is a Brazilian right-back now with Roma, though his senior career is still shaped mainly by Flamengo. He made 78 league appearances there across four seasons, scoring twice, and that remains the main body of his work.
Flamengo gave him the first-team volume that matters for a young defender. It was not a token development spell or a brief staging post, but the club where he became a regular professional before moving on to Italy.
At Roma in 2025–26, Wesley has remained a proper part of the side. He has made 30 Serie A appearances, scoring five goals, with 39 appearances and five goals in all competitions when his Coppa Italia and Europa League games are included. That league return is the most productive of his career so far.
He has also been involved with Brazil this season, making three appearances in South American World Cup qualifying. His market value is around £21.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His career to date is a substantial Flamengo spell followed by a regular role at Roma, with his 2025–26 season keeping him firmly in the first-team picture.
