Cammy Devlin, born on the 7th of June 1998 in Australia, is a football warhorse. The 27-year-old is currently plying his trade with Hearts in the Scottish Premiership, donning the number 14 jersey with aplomb. Primarily a central defensive midfielder, he brought his shepherding powers from the A-League in Australia, maturing further under the Scottish skies. Standing 5ft 7in tall (1.72m) and weighing 12st 3lb (78kg), Devlin is compact yet tenacious, a robust figure in the middle of the park, unafraid to put the boot in when needed.
The ever industrious midfielder has also represented the Australian national team, showcasing his craft on an international stage. His exertions have seen his market value increase to around €1.20m, equivalent to roughly to £1m, according to Transfermarkt.
After joining Sydney FC in the A-League in his native Australia, in the July of 2017, Devlin received his first taste of senior action. In the 2018-2019 season, he made seven first team appearances for Sydney FC and netted once. After his stint down under, he then weaved his way through the A-League, transferring to Wellington Phoenix in July 2019, before shifting gears to Newcastle United Jets in July 2021.
After his move from Newcastle United Jets in August 2021, Devlin settled in the rugged terrains of Scottish football, signing for Hearts in the Premiership for an undisclosed fee. In his debut season, he was introduced to the fray 25 times, getting his name on the scoreboard once. His performances, consistent and strong, resulted in 30 appearances for the 2022-2023 season, accompanied with another strike to his name.
Devlin's heart and hard work have been consistent through his time at Hearts, with his appearances consistently in the mid-to-late twenties, and a solitary goal every season bar the 2024 - 2025 season. In the current season, 2025 - 2026, he has once again made 25 appearances, maintaining his habit of puncturing the net in every season, except one.
A look at his record in the League Cup of 2025 - 2026 further attests to his consistency. He started four times and made one appearance as a substitute, thus cementing his place as a regular in the Hearts team and a dependable force in the Scottish Premiership.
