As far as Iovu's transfer history goes, the defender initially kick-started his career under the Italian sun. He signed for Cagliari, a Serie A club, in July 2021. A year later, a move within Italy saw Iovu switching sides to Venezia in the Serie B. However, this stint proved to be brief as he soon found himself loaned to Istra 1961 in the HNL, Croatia in August 2022.
Iovu spent three seasons at Istra 1961, clocking up 3, 11, and 14 first team appearances respectively in the league matches from 2022 to 2025. In January 2023, the move to Istra 1961 was made permanent for an undisclosed fee.
The first half of 2025 witnessed another loan spell for Iovu, this time to Alaves in LaLiga, Spain. The latter half of the year, however, brought about a more permanent change. Iovu was transferred from Istra 1961 to Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership, at a cost of approximately £170k, marking his entry into Scottish football.
In the current season of 2025 - 2026 at Dundee United, Iovu has already made an impressive 24 appearances in the league.
