Max Aarons, the robust right back who plays for Rangers, came blustering into this world on the 4th of January, year 2000, in the country folk cheerfully refer to as Old Blighty or less romantically, England. Not a giant by any means, at 5-foot-10 or 1.78m for the metrically inclined, and tipping the scales at 10st 12lb (69kg), he still manages to boast the physical presence of a classic defender. Blessed with the proverbial number 3 jersey, this lad's current market worth stands at a modest, yet admirable £3.4m, or so says Transfermarkt.
The journey of life, much like that of Aarons', can be full of twists and turns, and sometimes a wee tour through the scenic routes. Aarons started his professional venture in the football world with Norwich City back in the sweltering summer of 2016. There he toiled and laboured, made his mark, starting with the 2018-2019 season, until the 2022-2023 season, notching up a respectable count of 201 appearances and 5 goals for the club.
In what can only be described as the frenzied spin of the transfer wheel, the summer of 2023 saw Aarons swap the bucolic grind of Championship football with Norwich for the bright lights and soaring ambitions of Premier League side Bournemouth, in exchange for a tidy sum of £7m.
Aarons' stint at Bournemouth was nothing short of a melodrama, comprising early promise, dimmed by subsequent relegation to the periphery. A brief fling with the Spanish fiesta that is LaLiga in January 2025, yielded a paltry four appearances with Valencia. It served to do nothing more than dust off his passport and add a dash of cultural flair to his portfolio. On completing his loan in June 2025, he was reeled back into Bournemouth's fold.
In what can only be classified as rather unsurprising, his journey led him north of the Hadrian's Wall to the misty Highlands. Uprooting once again, this time our trepid hero found himself on loan to Rangers, the mighty ship sailing the stormy waters of Scottish football from the 2025 season.
While his tour in the land of kilts and bagpipes began with a measure of promise, his tally reading 17 first-team appearances and 1 goal in league matches for the current season. A smattering of League Cup, Scottish Cup, Champions League Qualifiers, and Europa League appearances round out the rather impressive range of his résumé this season.
