The stalwart of Scottish colloquialism, Oliver 'not-so-ant' Antman, was introduced to this fascinating world we dwell in, on 15th August 2001, in a place far from the hearty affair of Celtic Park - Finland, to be precise. Equipped with his forward credentials and an adoration for right winger positions, our dear Antman now takes to the field for the Rangers. Towering at a height of 6ft (1.85m), and carrying an athletic bulk of 11st 6lb (73kg), he can be easily spotted darting around in his number 18 jersey. He doesn't just run about in Scotland though, as Finland saw fit to roster him for international duty too.
While numbers and statistics can feel as cold as an Arctic breeze, our lad's current market value is around 4.7 million pounds, according to those fine folks at Transfermarkt.
Do you remember the days of yore when he left the Finnish football club IF Gnistan and joined FC Nordsjaelland? It was August of 2018 when he bid fond adieu to the Veikkausliiga and said 'how do you do?' to the Superliga in Denmark. He moved for a meagre sum of 45 grand, a steal one might argue, given his later performances. He played there for five seasons. His most prominent was the 2021-2022 season, playing 26 games and sending the ball through the net for a commendable five goals.
During his escapade in Denmark, Antman borrowed himself to FC Groningen through January 2023, a side matter in the larger Eredivisie of the Netherlands. Here, he managed two goals in 11 matches. However, his heart called him back to FC Nordsjaelland, and back he went.
While the thrill of the game kept him constant company, in August 2024, he transferred from FC Nordsjaelland to Go Ahead Eagles. The Eredivisie club coughed up a hefty sum of 1.1 million pounds that year. His one season stint there was somewhat decent. He found the back of the net six times from 32 starting appearances.
Then came the rather questionable transfer to the Rangers. It was the 2025 August transfer window and the Premiership club decided to part with approximately ÂŁ2.5m to secure Antman's services. He is currently playing for them, equipped with his expensive price tag. So far, he has tallied 10 appearances in the league, which brings his stats to ÂŁ250k per match! Now THAT'S lucrative, folks!
Off the field, Antman has showcased his talent in both domestic and international competitions, with notable efforts in the World Cup Qualifiers and Euro Qualifiers for Finland, and the League Cup and the Champions League Qualifiers for the Rangers. One could only wish the lad could show that kind of productivity for Celtic!
