Meet Zebedee Lawson, a sprightly lad hailing from the land of Shakespeare and endless bouts of rain - England. Born on the pedestrian date of 18th November 2008 - no fireworks or fanfares here, folks - Lawson is a grim seventeen years of age. As the Scottish weather fogs up our windows and we're pining for something - anything - to provide some semblance of entertainment, Lawson steps up to the plate. He's a forward for the Rangers. Yes, folks, you read that correctly. Not the familiar green-and-white hoops of our beloved Celtic, but the Rangers. Ah, isn't it grand to embrace variety, eh?
Primarily a right winger (because, let’s face it, we just don't have enough of those already), Lawson dons the number 46 jersey. I'm almost certain that there's a profoundly stirring story behind that number choice. Too bad that tale hasn't made its way to my dusty desk. Last season, in one of those dreary Scottish Cup dances that felt as if it would never end, Lawson had his brief moment of glory by making one appearance as a substitute for Rangers. We must all remember to send him our warmest congratulations on this remarkable achievement.
